Does this word bring visions of exciting fun-filled days and nights riding down the trail, sitting around a campfire in the woods roasting hot dogs, enjoying a mountain top winter wonderland view seen by few others, or just being out riding and having fun with some friends? If so, let me introduce you to the Berkshire Snow Seekers Snowmobile Club, Inc. located in Western Massachusetts in the heart of the Berkshires.
The Berkshire Snow Seekers is one of the largest and fastest growing snowmobile clubs in Western Massachusetts with over 600 memberships annually. The Club was established to unite local snowmobile enthusiasts, further the sport of snowmobiling, and promote a safe, sensible, responsible snowmobiling environment for everyone. Club members span all age groups and include singles, couples, and families with children. We currently enjoy memberships from throughout Berkshire County, Connecticut, New York, and Vermont. Though our backgrounds may vary considerably, we all share a common love of snowmobiling, the winter season, and the great outdoors.
Club activities include both local trail rides and extended snowmobile trips to other snowmobiling locations such as New York, Vermont, Maine, and Canada. The club schedules events throughout the year such as dinners, parties, picnics, and trips to nearby grass drags and water cross events. Trail development and maintenance are also major club activities.
Join our club to: make new friends, to participate in snowmobiling related social events, to have access to local, state, and national snowmobile news and information, to get the latest trail information, to help preserve your right to ride, and to receive a monthly newsletter which keeps you informed on snowmobiling issues.
MEMBER OF S.A.M.
Membership in the Berkshire Snow Seekers includes a membership in the Snowmobile Association of Massachusetts (S. A. M.). This membership makes it easy to ride on the many miles of private landowner supported trails throughout the county.
EXTENSIVE TRAIL SYSTEM
The Berkshire Snow Seekers have worked closely with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management, the Massachusetts Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, the Snowmobile Association of Massachusetts (S.A.M.), other nearby snowmobile clubs, and private landowners to develop and maintain a large snowmobile trail network. This joint trail network includes well over 120 miles of corridor trails plus many more miles of secondary trails in and around Mount Greylock State Reservation, Pittsfield State Forest, October Mountain State Forest, Savoy State Forest, Windsor State Forest and Beartown State Forest.
Your snowmobile must be registered in Massachusetts to ride in the state. In addition, you must have a valid trail pass to ride on private trails or have obtained permission from each and every landowner whose land the trail crosses. Completion of a snowmobile safety course is highly recommended.
The club operates a fleet of 3 fully restored, radio equipped, class A groomer and drag combinations, along with three snowmobile towed drags. These powerful machines, along with those of adjoining clubs and the state, make riding the trails in Berkshire County a memorable experience.
There is direct trail access to food (snacks / full dinners) and fuel at various locations throughout the county. Lodging is available nearby and trail-side parking is available in the Massachusetts State Forests.
